My friend has been married since 2003 and now his wife has filed 489A against him and his family . In FIR she wrote that she got married in March 2010 she got married. Why has she done so? Is there any time limit in the law that she can file 489A with 7 years of marriage.plz specify with details

it must be a typographical error . no time limeit that it has to be filed within 7 years of marriage

No time limit is there after marriage for FIR U/S 498A.

A case u.s. 498A can be filed at anytime after the marriage whenever there is harrassment as contemplated in the section.

thank u all... i mean to ask you that they got married in 2003,and consumed marriage in 2010.. as you said that Sethi sir,, she can file within 7 years of marriage and after that she cant file 498A..so if she has file 498A now .. is that legal????

i have said that there is no time limit that it has to be filed within 7 years of marraige
