Dear Friends,
Need your suggestion. I had filed an FIR at Mulbagal Police Station in Kolar Dist, Karnataka against a Bus for hitting my car and damaging the same. This happened one year back. The effect of accident was only to my car and no injuries to people.
Till date i have not received any intimation or communication regarding this FIR from police station or court. Hence wanted your advice, how to close this as i am planning to sell my car and the police have take in writing from me that i will produce the car when the court seeks for.

you will get witness summons when the trial in your case commences.then only you have to appear in court.when the trial commences your car will be required for identification before the court .if you want to sell it now before the end of trial approach the court and seek permission.however your purchaser will have to produce it whenever ordered by the court.you inform the purchaser about this to avoid unnecessary problems.

in case of damage to a vehicle only own damage claim can be filed prior to that you should have intimated the insurance company so that survey can be undertaken now in your case you should wait or to inform the relavant court regarding tranferring of vehicle but you should draw court attention prior to it.

Sell the car. Rest assured the police have done nothing. If U want to be absolutely sure, check with the Magistrate's court to see if any action has been taken by the local police. In any event, U can always tell as to whom U have sold the car i.e. as & when the need arise.

Few more queries :-
1) Is thr any Lawyer friends in Kolar / Mulbagal, who can help me to close this case or find out the information, for me to take a decision. I will pay the consultancy fee, Can i get thr contacts.
2) If the case is not gone to the court, due to various reasons, will the police handover the letter they took from me, for showing the car whenever the court summons.
3) As the insurance formalities are over, can i withdraw the case, so that i can sell my car.
