Better change spelling mistake through Gazatte notification as name change.

Yes. You have to go for a Gazette notification for a change of the name. You shall submit the application through the Tahsildar of your taluk/mandal for gazette notification.

Approach the concerned institution / board for correction of the spelling. If declined due to rules, proceed to get Gazette Notification as advised by the experts.
