i am marrying a russian girl in india. after marriage she will be living in india. she has a child of 5 years from her previous relation. we want that child to live with us in india. how can we do that? do i have to adopt that child and where do i have to file the adoption papers ? in india or in russia.
hope i get some advice from you experts

Child must have been born in Russia,out of Russian citizens, So all of you three need to Register ADOPTION DEED in Russia, with Court order for custody in your favour.
This will help for permanent VISA of child too.

IF SHE CONVERTS AS HINDU AND THEN YOU MARRY HER UNDER HINDU MARRIAGE ACT.LEGAL ADOPTION CAN TAKE PLACE.

yes sir, she is going to convert to hindu and marriage will be under hindu marriage act. but do i have to go to russia to fullfill adoption procedure or it can be done in india ? its a very time consuming procedure in russia , so either i have to stay there for several months(which is not possible because of my job) or i have to travel to russia several times.

Mr.Prabhakar sir. Even though the marriage is performed in India, it might not be so easy to adapt a child of Russian origin. It needs thorough review. The Ministry of External Affairs may help in this matter.

I am in absolute agreement that it would certainly be difficult to adopt a non citizen as he also need to be converted.Several other legal requirement may also come in the way.
All i meant that complete concept of adoption
can be only under Hindu law.Elsewhere it is simply care taking and guardianship.
