please advice me on how much time i've got to dpend per day apart from my preparations for class 12 exams to achieve sucess at the forthcoming common law admission test[clat] in 2009.

It depends upon to which college you are going to apply. It also depends upon your intelligence logical reasoning capacity. You go through daily newspapers read magazines like india today CSR study legal maxims words and pharase used in IPC CRPC CPC EVIDENCE ACT CONSTITUTION etc.

1.STRATAGISE YOUR TIME AND GO THROUGH THE SUBJECT SLOWLY AND ABSORB EACH QUESTION
2.VISIT LAW TEACHERS AND ASK THEM HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE CLAT EXAMINATIONS
3. READ RELEVANT CHANGES OR RECENT UPDATES
IN CLAT EXAMINATIONS AND ALSO GO THROUGH OLD QUESTION PAPERS AND ACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH QUESTIONS AND PATTERNS
4. DO A LITTLE BIT OF RESEARCH IN FORMULA TING A MODEL QUESTION PAPERS FOR THE ABOVE EXAM
5. AGAIN TAKE SUGGESTIONS FROM ONLINE FORUMS DEDICATED TO LAW EXAMINATION LIKE ORKUT OR SEAR5CH ENGINES

The feild you have decided to be in is a very tough one. You cannot expect income as compared with IT professional. But one thing is sure once you put in your best effort then sky is the limit for you. All the best for you.
