Nothing can be opined on the basis of presumption.
Just discuss the issues with her and sort out the differences.

you have not ask any question.
However, if you remain in custody for 48 hours then you are deemed suspended.

Are you sure or someone told you that the newlywed spouse has mental illness?
Let first of all elders of both families sit and discuss the matter in gentle and amiable manner and find what is what.
The medical record shows the diagnosis, treatment.
The medical specialist (say Psychiatrist) can appraise you if the disease (if any) is controllable or not.
Till then avoid believing gossip, rumor, hearsay.
To not allow the newlywed spouse remain in home, in haste, may not be the rights step.
The spouse and family of spouse may act against you.
Involve elders of the family, sensible mediators and try to resolve amicably.

You can not stop spouse and family to complain against you and your family to state/court/employer....if you are employed.
You can only respond if complaint is lodged per facts and merits if any are on your side....
If you are apprehensive or sure of complaint/case then noting the posts in this thread without wasting time approach a very able senior LOCAL counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializing in Family matters and having successful track record and act on the suggestions of your counsel...
