Dear Sir,
We have ancestral property at our Native village. Total area is 6.14 (Approx 50 acres).
My grandfather is alive, & he has 3 sons & a one daughter.
But Grandfather sold the 8 acres of land to my aunty. He sold it through "registry" on 24th May'11.
All beurocrats are involved in that.
Request you to please guide us, how we can proceed further

Please indicate the said 50 acres of property (before selling the 8 acres) was in whose name?
How did that person get that property? Did he self-acquire it? or Did he get it from his father etc.?
If he got it from his father then in which year did he get it? Under what circumstances he got that property?
If your grand father is the 'Karta' of his family?
Only after knowing the above minimum details, one will be in a position to give any answer to your query.

All the son's are in nuclear family. Grandfather is staying alone & getting old age pension from Haryana Government & Also doing business (Shop).
Neither the father is depandent on Son's nor the Son's are depandent on father.
Dear all - Hope able to address your queries ?

Just because your grand father did not self-acquire the property does not automatically mean that it is 'ancestral'.
Then one has to still go back and find the facts.
How did your great grand father (who died in the year probably 1980) get the property? Whether he self-acquired it, or got it from his father?

Great grandfather purchased 18 acres of land & rest 32 acres of land from his father.
Total land was 150 acres, which is equally divided among 3 grand fathers.

Dear Mr. Nishant,
Please understand. Any property received by way of inheritance from the father after the year 1956 cannot be treated as 'ancestral property'.
Therefore, you have also to be very specific, as to in which year your great grand father receive the 32 acres of land from his father? That will also be crucial.
