applicability of bonus to contract workers in PSUs

In a CPSU the work of sanitation and loading unloading is being carried out by awarding contract .Is the bonus is applicable to the contract workers working in the PSU . My querry is in relation to the section 20 of the Payment of Bonus ACt.

Contract workers are entitled to "wages". The definition of "wages" under Payment of Wages Act does not include 'bonus'.
Therefore, the PSU would not be required to pay any 'bonus', unless the terms of contract with the contractor who supplies the workers contains a clause for payment of bonus.

There is no liability of bonus of Principal employer rather this duty vests with contract employer.

You can claim bonus, if due, from the employer from whom you claim your wages, not the company for which you are working as a contract worker on behalf of the contractor.
