Please let me know whether contract workers who have been given to perform and paid for piece rated wages are to be covered under PF in construction industries.

1. the workers in the scheduled industries/establishments enjoy the benefits of a contributory provident fund either under statutory scheme or under schemes voluntarily instituted by the employer
2. the statutory scheme applies to the employees (a)whose monhly salary or wages are upto RS6,500
(b)who are employed in factories ,employing 20 persons or more.
3.an eligble employee whose wages do not exceed rs6,500 per month will become member of provident fund scheme from the date of joining.
4.and in case of the contract workers perfoming for a piece rated wages, the provident fund can only depend upon the amount of wages and the employer himself can form any scheme of provident fund by way of deposit from the employees and insurance schemes which can ultimately benefit the employees.
