Hi,
My sister married for 9 yrs is continuously tolerating the domestic violence. We have asked her many times to stand against it and lodge a complaint. But she never does that fearing the future of her kid and divorce.
In the past few days she is getting physically as well as mentally tortured. But still living in the same house falling prey to the inlaws false apologies.
We can not do much since she is fearing leaving the husband's house. But we feels her life could have danger.
Is there any step that we can take to make sure that she will remain safe there. Like can we as girl's family file some application for her safe living there with her kid mentioning the domestic violence she is tolerating now?

Yes you can file written complaint on her behalf with local police where she lives, mentioning her fear of being hurt by the husband and his other family members. You can seek protection for her and criminal proceeding against those hurting her.
I am sorry to disagree with words expressing cold ground reality.
You give application against he in-laws she will be called in thana and give a statement in favour of her husband family and will not even mind you being arrested for false complaint.
When a wife is addicted to tolerating torture then none can come to her rescue.
Such type of women pretend that they are worried about future of child but in fact they are not . So is the case with your sister. she can live in fools paradise and keep on believe that in such atmosphere her child will study well, secure a profession and will also get married despite being part of such a family.

If you are really interested to help your sister at her in-laws you will have to: a) post your query with identity, we do not entertain any "anonymous" author as per rules of this platform b) stop interference in her personal life. c) consult a local lawyer and a psychiatrist.
