Ask to leave the job

(Querist) 13 February 2017 This query is : Resolved
From last 9 months im working with one of the university in Delhi NCR. LAst week when i went to my manager for appraisal, he told me that he came to know from my colleague that i have said bad thing about him eg like he only like girl to be in his department and all. When i refuse then he said if he prove then you have to leave. He called one of the female staff, during the conversation she said she was not present but she heard that he said for u, then boss called another female staff. When he asked her even she said that someone told her. When i said it did not prove anything but boss is not ready to listen anything. I would like to know can i register mental harassment case against these two female staff for providing wake complaint about me.

Mr. Ranvir,

About your query, "can i register mental harassment case against these two female staff for providing wake complaint about me," you can surely register, but with what ultimate gain? Would you be able to save your job by registering a case against those female staff, when the manager has already made up his mind to get rid of you?

Office politics usually becomes the cause of ruin of career of one or the other. Better change your job to get rid of such adverse environments, if you are right.

Dear P S Dhingra Sir, I really respect your view, but you know it will be eyes opener for other who also do like this. I totally agree about office politics, but if i leave without fighting then i will be feel guilty. And these ladies will keep doing this with other to just save their job.

Mr. Ranvir,

Your description smacks some hypothesis, as if an academic query.

However, even if there is a little bit of truth in your story, better save your own skin, instead of thinking about unknown others.

Rumours always float in work places. You can't check them. Even as per your statement, none of them stated that they reported at their own, but did on being told by someone else. Better rethink about your own behaviour, whether anyone of them was hurt in any way by you to make them complain falsely about you.

Rather, you should be thankful that they have not tried to blackmail you so far. Once you go to the court against them, you would be inviting more trouble for you, if they frame you for sexual harassment. Law will surely help them, not you, if that happens.

REST DEPENDS UPON YOUR OWN WISDOM & SWEET WILL.

You have posted that all this happened while you were called for appraisal.

Has the Manager inserted anything about it in appraisal sheets?

Have you and Manager signed appraisal with such comments?

Do you have a copy?

The manager has given you pointers for future.

If you can handle, then stay, or move on before a blot on your career is casted in internal records of the company.

Another perspective is that: make up with Manager for now and stop making such comments in future (if you have been saying such comments).

It is better to forget all these and move ahead in your life / career.

Your case may not open eyes of others, if they counter, they can file true / false criminal cases against you, your eyes would open due to women favoring laws.

If get chance, may change your job.
