Attestation form of government employment

(Querist) 29 December 2019 This query is : Resolved
Hello, I got selected for a job and was told to fill the attestation forms and submit. While filling the attestation form, I haven't filled - yes or no- for whether you are convicted for criminal offense question - i have not done this deliberately and this is just a overseeing and I noticed this issue after the forms were dispatched from the nearby post office. So, will this lead to cancellation of my appointment and lead to termination? Please help and what course I have to fill the unfilled cells. I have no case pending against me - I forgot to write NO in that form.
Preetham (Querist) 29 December 2019
Also I was never accused or convicted in any case

So please help me with this situation. I am afraid.

usually, it may be returned to you. The appointing Authority issued you Attestation Form, so If you have not filled in the column as Yes/No, then it may be considered or be returned with the objection that the Attestation Form is not completely filled in. However, you personally meet the Officer concerned in person and tell him that it is a mistake by oversight and request to give another Form.

Sir you have told that it may be considered - what this word " considered" mean - will they accept it or they act against me? Please clarify sir

do not assume this forum to be astrological forum

do not assume this forum to be spokesperson of your future employer

Had you been asked to submit the attestation form by post?
Preetham (Querist) 30 December 2019
Yes sir, I was asked to submit by post

They accept it....or if they denied they will give valid ground...so just wait for approval or denied...then after that make strategy

Admittedly, you have already been issued with appointment order. Any adverse decision could be taken only after providing you an opportunity to show cause.

Incomplete form is bound to be rejected.
On the one hand you have "deliberately" not answered question qua conviction on the other you are stating "overseeing" implies that you are a cheater, if not a "criminal"
It is advisable to consult a local prudent lawyer for better appreciation of facts/document, professional advise and proceeding.

With due respect to learned expert Dr. J. C. Vashista, it is stated that the facts stated suggest that non-filling of the particular information was a mistake, an omission and not a mischief i.e. suppression of information. As the appointment has already been issued, any adverse order cannot be issued unless the concerned person is given a chance to show cause.

Moreover, it is impossible that there could be local prudent lawyer who is conversant with service matters.

I may also permitted to point out that the stature and dignity of this Forum is better upheld if the our suggestions are restricted to the legal elements without being judgmental of the queriests. After all, it is human to err.

Your application is incomplete hence the recruitment authorities, on scrutinisation, if found that this is a serious lapse, they may reject your application.
You wait for the return of the application, which sometimes may not even happen because some departments dont take much care to return the application to the applicant with the reasons for rejection.
In my opinion, this error may be over looked as minor or ignorable error and the department may proceed in further process, however you may wait for their decision because it is ultimately their decision to accept or not.

To my knowledge, the attestation form stands on different footing from an application form for employment. The attestation form is to be submitted after the selection process is completed and the person has been selected for appointment.
