My sister in law committed suicide along with daughter. Its been now 2 months that my brother is in police custody. His bail application has been rejected 3 times in the lower court. Now we have moved on to High court. I want to know what are the chances the bail application would be accepted. Also how long the trial normally goes on for such cases. And can bail also ba granted after the chargesheet is submitted.

Bails are discretion of the court. Nothing much can be said about the success in obtaining the bail in High court without knowing the details of your case and the kind of evidence against your brother.

In addition to Vishal Sir's advice - Bail can be granted after submission of charge sheet also.

if police papers reveal prima facie involvement of accused generally courts takes it seriously. after submission of charge sheet bail application can be filled. if suicide is due to some external reason, without involvement of accused than hon high court may grant bail.
