Hello,
We have taken a passport in 2004 using Affidavit from Magistrate for Date of Birth. Now when we went for renewal they said these are not valid and asked bring a certificate. Where to we get this from? I vaguely got some direction that we need to get it from court and then get it registered with the Corporation. Kindly help me in this please.

As initially you get from magistrate in same manner get it.

Sir, they said Affidavit even if from magistrate its not valid. They said to go and file in a court for no birth proof and get it registered with Corporation.

What is your date of birth?
If it is on or after 26.01.1989 birth certificate from municipality required.
If birth has not been registered, there is procedure for late registration of birth through magistrate orders.
Get the date registered, obtain certificate and submit.

In such case your educational certificate i.e. Matriculation certificate containing your date of birth has to be submitted as proof in support of your birth date.
Please visit passport office website.

Yes, in your case. birth certificate is not mandatory. The date recorded in the matriculation certificate would serve the purpose.

No Sir, studied only until 6th that school isnt there anymore that was way back in 1980s. We have taken our passport using Magistrate Affidavit in 2004 but that isnt valid now as they need birth certificate. Will I be able to get using the same copy of the old affidavit?

If you do not have passed your 10th standard and born before 26.01.1989, sworn affidavit before the Magistrate is required.
You can get birth certificate from Municipality / registrar of birth and deaths.
If the birth is nor registered, it can be registered late through orders of competent authority. Please inquire locally which is the competent authority in your state sub divisional magistrate / DC / Magistrate or some other officer.
