How to help lawyers

Hello Sirs / MS,

I am doing research in computer science. I want to make a system which 'll indian judicial department to take quick decisions. For this I am planning to develop an algorithm which can help/lawyers to find similar judgements.I am aware that currently manupatra , westlaw etc, are in use, and I am worrking to improve their algorithm.
As I am not from legal domain, I want to know few very basic question from the people belonging to legal domain.

1 :-- How lawyers search for a judgement in legal search engine ?
2 :-- Do you think any area of improvement over there ?
3:-- What is the importance of citation in the judgement ?
4:-- how can I say whether two judgements are similar or not ?

Looking for quick resposes.
Thanks in advance

Counting of Past service:BMC to central Autonomous Body

I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on what is the legal status of the Bombay Municipal Corporation with respect to the State Government.
I worked in BMC service for 8 years and then applied for a post in a Central Govt Autonomous Body through proper channels. When selected, I was relieved and I joined without any break in service.Subsequently my Organisation itself, which has agreed to count my past service for pensionary benefits, has written to BMC for transfer of PF and Gratuity to them for counting my past service, but the BMC is sitting over it since almost past 4 to 5 years despite reminders. I understand that there is a GR regarding counting of past service between State and Autonomous to Central and autonomous and vice versa but I have been told by BMC that there is no such precedence in BMC and that it is not governed by that GR as it is a Local Self Government and not an Autonomous body of State Government.Could some expert please clarify and what I should do next? I have not filed RTI as I am worried that a negative view might be taken in the decision. I have also not received nor followed up my PF and gratuity so that as and when my service is counted there should be no hassles.
Awaiting your advice.
Thanks
Sandeep

Money not refunded by meal card.

Hi,

In my company we have the option to take the food coupon/Meal Card as a part of salary.

Every month a certain amount of money is credited to the meal card and we can use it to take food in the office cafeteria by swiping in the machine (just like a Bank Debit card).

In the year 2007 the vendor was changed from company 'X' to a bank so whoever had money left in the 'X' meal card were assured that they would receive the money in salary post tax.

I didn't get the money.I have amount some near to Rs 4000/-.

I raised this issue with my company and then repeated follow they asked my Meal card assured that they would take this matter to Company 'X' but nothing has happened till now.

What shall I do now ?

Please guide me.

Can I file a case in consumer court ?

Regards,
Prabhat

Credit card dues payments-dues

I have been using credit cards for the last five years or more.I have been prompt in paying my dues with in the due dates and have never ever failed in my payments. The only thing is that I have been paying only the minimum dues.

Now,because of loss in business ,I have no income for the last 18 months.I am paying the dues of my cards by taking loans from few Banks.

Now,the situation is too bad if not worst and have approached a legal adviser for help in settling.

Kindly let me know whether what I am correct in my approach as I have no other way of paying my dues except waiting improvement in my real estate business.

Please be kind enough to enlighten me on this subject.

Transfer of Property Act

Dear Sir,

Ours is a real estate Company. While delivering the flats usually the registration cost is borne by the buyers. Is there any provision that the buyer only pay the registration costs and not the developer/seller? What is the consequence of non payment of the registration costs? So far i have searched the Transfer of Propperty Act and the Registration Act, i find no statutory answear in this regard. Then which statute govern this? Kindly advise.

Best regards,

Asish
