Hi,
Good day,
My mother has 3 properties on her name in state of pondicherry. Due to occupational reasons our entire family ( Mother, myself & 2 younger sisters) moved to Bangalore. Is it possible for my mother to write a will for these properties that is located in pondicherry and register the will in Bangalore itself, without travelling to Pondicherry?
Will such a will have proper legal rights and accepted in pondicherry?

Although a WILL can be executed/registered any where but some states (like in Delhi) Sub Regisrar insists the will be registered at the place of residence or where the property is situated.
However, it can be executed, witnessed and notarised any where.

Yes, it can be executed at any placed.
However for registration which is not mandatory, it can be done where any of the properties are situated.

Will is a document connected to the property. So, only if the WILL is registered in the same SRO where in the property is registered, this will reflect in EC.
Even though the WILL, need not be registered, I suggest you to register that.

A Will can be executed from any place but has to be duly witnessed by witnesses, the same need not be registered, but need to be probated when it comes to force.
