Can father act as a witness during property registration

I have purchased a duplex in greater noida. And registery to be done at dadri.for.registery i need two witnesses.
Can my father be a witness for this.

avoid it. take witness of family friends.

Means, blood relation members cannot be a witness for property registration.

Depend on local customs, it should be avoided.

It is not prohibited any where that a family member can not be a witness but you should take at least one witness who personally knows the sellers. In case of a fraud with you there should be at least one person who can say that he personally knows the sellers.
