No you are not fooled infect you are made to learn "legal tips" by your future would be !
In maint. case your would be is defendant / respondent husband and concerned Court has given him opportunity to file 'written statement" which in layman understanding is called as ‘his version / his say in suit matter if any”
Legal terminology:
Written statement – The defendant shall, within thirty days from the date of service of summons on him, present a written statement of his defence. Provided that where the defendant fails to file the written statement within the said period of thirty days, he shall be allowed to file the same on such other day, as may be specified by the Court, for reasons to be recorded in writing, but which shall not be later than ninety days from the date of service of summons.
It seems you asked your future would be status of the maint. case and he said he is in process of filing written statement and or court has asked him for written statement and or might have said he got delayed in filing written statement and Court has reprimanded him and thus he is busy right now ….whatever……which confused you probably but it is normal to file written statement in such suit matters.
