Can my wife ask for share in my property gifted to me by my parents. I have a baby girl of 13months old . She stays with me for few days and again goes back to her maternal home and to her brothers home. At odd hours she wants to move out of home leaving the baby to me after pursuation and told her she may leave me if not interested only during morning hours. Or atleast when their parents come. I cannot be watchman to her at all the time and I am also scared of her safety because she/parents point out me my parents for her condition. Her brothers are in police department and we face a lot of pressure.kindly advice me.

Discuss with your local advocate disclosing the real facts.

Dear Ramakrishna,

The situation you have explained seems under control. Try to settle the issue/differences amicably. If need arises ask the close relatives to intervene. At least for the sake of you daughter the differences if any should be resolved openly. I think the issue will be resolved.

If you are all Hindus by religion, your wife has no right to seek any share in the property gifted by your parents to you. The wife is entitled to one share in the property of her deceased husband if he dies intestate, i.e. without making any Will otherwise during the lifetime the wife is only entitled to ask for place of residence from the husband and maintenance if she has neither of these two for herself and nothing out from the self owned or self acquired property of the husband under the Hindu Succession act,1956.
As far settling scores with her parents/relatives is concerned that you have to workout amicably so that your matrimonial home doesn't break just because of outsider if you want to live peacefully with your wife and minor child. Ladies do listen to parents, brothers etc.. and make wrong decisions that break the otherwise peaceful marital home, but as a sensible husband you have to workout this issue amicably with all of them with help of elders of both side.

The facts posted suggest no nexus to your wife having or seeking share in your property. There appears to be deeper issues.
