My friend was carrying 1 litre liquor while traveling in train. In the search by RPF,He was asked to pay a fine of 1000 by the RPF personal for carrying the liquor, even with its receipt. Now I have read that its allowed to carry 2 litres liquors with u in trains. I just want to confirm if my knowledge is correct and the supportive portion of the relevant act.

Carrying liquor to the quantity permitted by rules is not an offence but consuming liquor during travel by rail is an offence.

Section145 of the Railway Act mentions that if a passenger, on-board a train or in any part of the railway premises, indulges in drinking or is in a state of inebriation and commits nuisance, indecent acts, uses abusive or obscene language, he is liable to be removed from the train, his ticket is forfeited and he should be put behind bars, which may extend to six months along with a fine of Rs 500. Viewing objectionable stuff on a laptop and thus making fellow passengers uncomfortable is an offence under the same section of the Railway Act and invites similar punishment.
You can carry but only two bots.
