Cast certificate

(Querist) 06 November 2012 This query is : Resolved
"SHAW" is the surname and belongs to Sub caste "TELI".
Teli is the Caste which comes under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
Grand Father left the Native Place Bihar a long time ago and came to West Bengal at Kankinada in North 24 Paraganas in a rented house.
Even Father does not know the Native Place well and Grand Father is no more.
Now Mr. A. resides at Howrah in West Bengal and wants to get the caste certificate, as he belongs to the OBC Caste but he don't have sufficient proof of his caste.
But it is general and most of the people knows that the surname Shaw is belongs to sub caste Teli.
Whereas Mr. A has everything like Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, Ration Card etc.
Please suggest the procedure or the documents as soon as possible.

what certificate do you expect when :-

you do not know your native place?
you do not have proof of belonging to a particular cast?

From whom (from which village)the parwari of Bihar will verify your status.

Passport etc does not prove anything regarding caste status.

Caste certificate can also be got prepared from Bengal as A and his father are residing therein since a long time and they even do not know their native place at Bihar.
