Sir
I have lodged a FIR in June 2014.
Current online status of this FIR is that "challan is put up in court."
1.what is the exact procedure after this challan?
2.is it fine if I have not yet got any intimation either from police or court?
3.do I need to follow it up specially if ex party decision is possible in such case?

You have lodged the FIR. You would receive summons at the time of your evidence. If you wish you can attend court on dates or appoint a lawyer.

Query wise answers.
1. You can go to the police station where you had earlier filed an FIR & contact SHO and ask him about the date on which challan has been filed by police he will check the records then ask JF numbers (Judicial File number)JF Numbers are given by the trail court hence different than the FIR numbers but all police stattions note them down & keep it on record. After getting this information.
2. You can approach designated court through an advocate/ Public prosecuter of the said court & request for copy of chargesheet after this you will have complete picture of what was the outcome of your FIR also the sections of law in which challan has been filed
3. You will be summoned to the court after the trial begins.
4. In last point of your query it depends on the nature of case. Its always good to follow up the case but when the matter is chargesheeted then there are less chances of any Ex- party decision.

Once your complaint was taken and a FIR was duly registered, on preparing challan and submitting before court, you will get notice from court to appear as witness (pw1) until then you dont have to do anything.
