DATE OF BIRTH OF MY WIFE IS IN JULY 1968. DUE TO PREVALENT RULES OF CBSE, HER PARENTS CHANGED HER DATE OF BIRTH TO MAY 1968 SO THAT HER START OF EDUCATION IS NOT DELAYED. SINCE SHE WAS BORN IN A DELHI GOVT HOSPITAL GETING ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM. OUR CHILDREN ARE IN A PROCESS OF SETTLING DOWN IN US AND HER MIGRATION MAY BE A PROBLEM LATER. SHE HAS ALSO CHANGED HER NAME AFTER MARRIAGE. KINDLY ADVISE HOW TO CHANGE HER DATE OF BIRTH. IS IT ADVISABLE TO USE REVERT TO MAIDEN NAME IN FUTURE SO THAT THERE IN ONLY ONE CHANGE IS THERE IN DOCUMENTS.

Anyone having any sympathy for you shall not be advising anything without knowing the facts.
1. Why DOB was changed?
2. How CBSE rules came in picture?
3. Was DOB changed to be eligible to appear in CBSE exam of a particular year?
4. How was this changed from "X" to "Y".
5. How the school was prevailed upon to send form to CBSE with manipulated DOB.

Yes, it had been a practice in the past that that birth Certificate was not insisted while admitting children to school and parents used to 'advance' by coupleof months lest they may lose an academic year.
This may not pose much of a problem as, in the instant case, Birth Certificate is not mandatory for getting the passport. As regards to change of maiden name after marriage this could be addressed by following the due procedure or through an affidavit.

No birth certificate is needed for person born in 1968 for getting a passport in India, mark sheet / certificate containing DOB would be considered.
Any change would give rise to multiple problems.

Change of name after marriage will not be of any problem for getting passport etc for ur wife. She need not revert to her maiden name. Hope u have registered ur marriage and hold marriage certificate. If marriage was not registered, u may do so even now by paying some penalty. As regards change in her date of birth, as the difference is only a month and odd, it should not cause any harm if the position is continued. I feel u need not be much concerned about it.

Move an application before registrar of births and deaths. Name change can be done through gazette publication.
