Change of dob in passport

My father had given wrong dob at the time of school admission to match the entry eligible age for LKG, (4months increased). My school records/ passport and other records are with different DOB.But, I have only have Birth certificate i.e. with different dob.Therefore, I request you to kindly suggest me how to resolve this problem.
Shall I submit the fresh birth certificate and get it correcte in my passport and how long it will take . regards
