Charge for public alcohol drinking

we 3 friends were siting in our car after a cocktail party. That time police man came and bring us to the station and filed case for public drinking. we were charged by them for 2400/- each and give us the copy of charge sheet.
How can I know whether the case is over or can i use the copy of charge sheet as a evidence for proof for penalty payment in future?
shall I get any acknowledgement from police station.
With out acknowledgement means they can demand for pay the penalty in future?

Allegation in charge sheet was they saw we were drinking alcohol.

They given receipt for one person only for Rs. 2400/- and a copy of charge sheet

Makes no sense taking fine also and not letting you guys get out of the case...
If the case lingers in court then do inform the magistrate about this.

As Mr.Mahendra said: they have simply pocketed the money paid by others.

And please do answer the question regarding Medical Examination.

Police might have challaned you all 3 persons and must have settled the matter by imposing a penalty of Rs. 2400/- but taken Rs. 7200/-. This is nothing but a bribery. Make written complaint to the higher officials of police department with your affidavit.

I think the paper given to you was not charge sheet but the receipt of the fine paid by you.

Police do not submit charge sheet to the accused person but in the court.
