Hi,
Last year end of December I had a car accident and the second party filed an FIR against me and I was arrested. I got bail that day but was told by the police that I would have to come to the court in couple of days for the hearing. I followed up with the police for couple of weeks but he didn't respond. After more than 10 months the police called me up and said that he is submitting the charge sheet and I would require bail again.
If I don't appear in the court then I will be given unbailable warrant. Pls help me if after 10 months the submission of charge sheet makes any sense or the police is doing this to take some money from me. I have already paid 10k for bail without any receipt. Pls help as I have moved out of the city of the accident and I live in a different City

WELL, AFTER SUBMISSION OF CHARGE SHEET YOU HAVE TO APPEAR IN COURT TO FACE TRIAL.
If you fail to do so then the court may issue W/A.
If it is already issued then appear in court and take bail once again.
There is no option but to seek bail once again and the face trial.

My question is that the police is submitting the charge sheet 10 months after the FIR. Does it hold good submitting it after 10 months.

delay of filing charge sheet after 10 months is not a fault at all. it's just delay that's it. All the motor vehicle accidents cases are bailable only (Except drink and drive meet accident caused to death.)
