Thank you sir..!!
one more thing i.e. life of cheque is 6 month as calender or 180 days

6 months.

If you want to extend the validity of the cheque, the drawer has to sign in the date correction.

we have seen cheques of LIC in which it is marked like "cheque is valid upto 15 days only" in this manner, can we marked "cheque is valid upto 7 months only" ??
Is it valid

You can fix the minimum period of validity by not the maximum from the original date of drawal. 6 months is the maximum period of validity after which it is treated as a stale cheque by banks. But the cheque can be revalidated by neatly scoring the earlier date with one line (not mutilating) and putting another date with full signatures of the drawer.

YOU MAY KINDLY NOTE THAT
1.CHEQUE IS VALID FOR SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF CHEQUE.
2 THE VALIDITY OF CHEQUE CAN BE EXTENDED BY CANCELLING PREVIOUS DATE ON CHEQUE AND REWRITING FRESH DATE AND THIS CORRECTION SHOULD BE SIGNED BY THE DRAWER OF THE CHEQUE.
3CHEQUE IS NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT AND YOU MAY REFER PROVISIONS OF NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS ACT.
WITH BEST REGARDS .GOOD LUCK.

i agree with experts.. 6 months mean not as 180 days.. if the date is 15-1-2011 mean its expire date is 14-7-2011. thats it..

As per the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, cheques in India are valid for three years from the date of issue. However, cheques are treated as stale, by practice, by banks after six months from the date of issue, BUT they can be revalidated by the issuer.
