Combining two flats

(Querist) 22 January 2014 This query is : Resolved
In our co.op.hsg.society, one flat owner (husband)has recently bought second flat adjacent to his flat in his wife's name. Both the flats are numbered different, having separate share certificate and separate BMC property tax bills, paying separate maint.bills to the soc.since possession of their flat from Builder/Developer. Now, he wants to combine/ merge this two flats and wants to make a door by destroying one of the walls, which is separating this two flats. Whether society can allow them to merge this two flats? please reply.
ajay sethi (Expert) 22 January 2014
ask them to obtain BMC permission for amalgamation of 2 flats . since flats have been constructed as per sanctioned plans no changes can be made without BMC consent
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 22 January 2014
No change can be done without the permission of the competent authority.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 22 January 2014
For such internal changes no permission is required in WB.
Get in touch with BMC officials.
