community certificate

Hello All,

My wife belongs to BC (vellalar), while I am SC, My question is, After marriage can she avail my SC reservation quota for State / Central Govt exams? and entitled to apply for competitive exams? still her Community certificate in BC category. we need to get new community certificate?
Please clarify.

No. Your wife will continue to belong to BC, irrespective of whether she got married to you (SC) or to any other community. Even by fresh community certificate her original community cannot be changed.

Your wife's community will not change. But, your children can opt for SC or BC.

your wife is not entitled to claim preference under caste basis. but she may pray to give a preference for intercaste marriage. because some states encourage this type of events. But if a child born in an inter-caste marriage the child can chose his caste.
