Practically if you are unemployed, better search another job first. Private concerns follow the policy of hire and fire.
You can lodge complaint to Labor department. If any arrears are pending send notice for its payment.
Take steps after consultation from local lawyer dealing in labor laws.

Keep record of calls made to police on 100 and you can pursue thru RTI to ask for names of police personnel that attended to complaint and report filed.
You may approach IT/ITeS Employee's unions/Trade Unions leaders e.g. CITU-INTUC-AITUC-BMS etc and Inspector appointed under Bombay Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, Payment of Wages Act.......
If you have been forced not to enter workplace then you should submit a gentle but properly drafted minutes under proper acknowledgment addressed to good offices of appointing authority, MD etc .....
You should proceed properly and place on record that you were forced to resign, forcible not allowed to enter workplace hence virtually terminated.........otherwise the company may claim that you were abstaining/absconding and hence terminated due to misconduct and may deny to pay any termination notice pay or compensation....and may even give negative feedback......
Unions in Maharashtra have traditionally been strong and it is state that have additional Acts like PULP........
Ideally you should consult an able Labor Law Consultant/Service Matters Lawyer.....and proceed under expert advise of your lawyer.....
