(Querist) 30 May 2012 This query is : Resolved
my younger brother nishant got the appointment in group c job as tech. in diesel shed on basis of compassionate gorund after death of my father in railway.
he does not have any technical qualification and more than it he is allergic form diesel, petrol and such other things so not being elligible to work there. that why he did not join the diesel shed and we requested to the personal department of firozpur division to change his department from diesel shed to some other department but every time they rejected our reqeusts.
i want to know now what should we go for??
1. my brother does not have any technical qualification so does he elligible to get the appointment in technical department??
2. what should we do as we have the medical certificate of civil hospital about his allergic background as in railways no such medical regarding to allergy conducted??
with regards,

Dear Prashant,

Any compassionate appointment is of gratuitous nature. If your brother has got a job without running from pillar to post, he should feel lucky. But, if merely for the reason that he is allergic of diesel, petrol, etc., and wants the HR to change his posting, the management can think as if he wants to dictte terms to them. He is likely to lose the job after some time of waiting by the management and no 2nd consideration will be give for compassionate appointment. He should not try to lose the opportunity.

Please advise your brother, NAUKRI AUR NAKHRA, DONO SAATH SAATH NAHIN CHALTEY.

So, if he needs easy employment, it would be better for him at first to join the post. Thereafter gets himself examined by the Railway's own Hospital at Ferozepur and get certificate from the hospital that he is allergic to the diesel & petrol. On the basis of that certificte he can get his posting changed even after joining the diesel shed.

In the first place the compassionate appointment is not a veted right.

It appears that the indignant circumstances of the family stand proved in the opinion of railway authroities hence they decided to offer a job. They offered him the job which could be just available in 5% quota of Direct Recruitment in GpC/D posts.

If he has no technical qualification he has no right to be on the post and can continue only if he acquires such qualification within 2 years. Lest he can be shifted to an unskilled work.

Agreeing with Mr Dhingra I would add that he has chosen a wrong path. He can join and ask for shifting of job due to medical condition.

Futher it can be understood that railways are having many posts including gardner, peon , gangaman, safaiwala, waterman etc where they can accomodate a person.
