Compensation for loss for land

i have a client whose forefather had lost his land to goverment about 60 years ago. No compensation has yet been paid for the same. Can i get compensation by filing an WPC in HC? Is there any limitation to agitate that isssue? pls enlighten me

what was your client doing for 60 years? was award passed under land acquisition act? was possession handed over to govt?

It would be difficult to get all documents from record after such a long time. What were the reasons the compensation was not claimed till date.
