Supervisor asking me to work on holidays

Sir, I am working in a central govt office as Field executive.
My supervisor asked me to work on all holidays(sunday and saturday) in September 2017.
Kindly reply whether they have any right to ask me to do so.

If asking verbally, orders are bad in the eyes of law.
What are the rules of working on holidays / overtime in your department?
Sometime work is associated with personal responsibility and to safeguard from effects due to non completion of work /protect your job, have to give extra time.with out any extra benefit.

any govt servant can becaled opon to do any job on any day for any number of housers without/without any additional emunrations.
Yes it may surprise you.
Govt as employer at times keep harsher provisions than it allows to private employer

why you cannot work diligently instead of running for legal advise after creating problems.
If this forum is free that does not mean that you will create complications to avail the benefits.
