Hi..If any SC candidate conversts to Christianity, will his certificated by cancled and should he/she get BC-C certificate? If so, please give the details where it is mentioned either in Constitution or in Indian Penal Code

Current position is if SC candidates get converted to Christianity is not eligible to enjoy the benefit of reservations in education and Public services. AP and Telangana issued a GO in this regard for extending the benefit of reservations to Dalit Christians way back in 1977 and it's yet to be implemented.Please click the following link for further information on this issue. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/andhra-pradesh/benefits-sought-for-sc-converts-to-christianity/article6288230.ece The relevant articles are Articles 15 and 16 of the constitution of India.

There is no caste within Christian religion; it is the basic tenet. Then how could a person be of particular caste once he/she has converted to that religion?
