Respected Sir, My father along with his brothers and his father divided ancestral property among themselves with the help of partition document. Then my father's father gifted to my father one property which he acquired through above mentioned partition document via gift deed. I have acquired this property through Will of my father. "What is the nature of this property? i.e. whether this comes under ancestral or self acquired category."

If the partition deed and gift deed are duly executed, stamped and registered, then it is your absolute property and can be catagorised as self earned.

Respected Sir, With respect to my abovementioned post, Partition document is notarized on a stamp paper and not registered. It dates back to 1986. Till date all the stakeholders have honoured this unresgistered and notarized partition document in the court of law and nobody has challenged it in court of law and many property transactions already taken place based on this partition document. In light of the above facts "What is the nature of the property mentioned in my previous post?"
