Removal of belongings from in laws or husband home

wife moves out of husband home due to some reason and wants to take back her belongings. Wife has house keys but husband doesn't allow to take her belongings and other stuffs, husband changes the lock too. What she should do?

If she has guts, may break open "new" lock placed by him (husband).
Law may not be able provide any help/protection instantly.

She should try to settle the matter amicably or should adopt the due process of law. We cannot suggest you to take law into your hands.

Taking her belongings and shifting somewhere( out of city) without her consent is wrong too. So what is to be done??
