Dear Sir,
I am currently perusing CA. I also want to do law as I have heard that CA+LAW is good. I want to know 2 things about LAW :-
1. Can LLB/LLM/other(if there) degree be done in Correspondence ?
2. What is the normal duration of the degree ?

hey there,
CA and LLB together is a good option provided you want to take up a corporate job or so where you can cater to accounts and legal work. However, if you want to practice as a CA or as an Advocate, I dont think it will make much of a difference. Coming back to your questions :
1. LLB/LLM can be done by correspondence but they are only to enrich your knowledge, practically they are not of much value and it really wont make any difference to your CV. However a correspondence diploma course or something of that sort offered by the national law colleges is something you can look into. They might just add weight to your CV depending on how well you understand and perform in that course.
2. The normal duration of correspondence courses are
LLB - 3 years
LLM - 2 years generally
other diploma courses vary form 6 months to a year sometimes they extend to 2 years also.
I hope i was of help and if you have any further query please feel free to ask.
Best wishes for your future.

Thanks Ms. Poonam Singh,
But please further explain "correspondence diploma course or something of that sort offered by the national law colleges" that you mentioned ?
And also, other courses that you think would be helpful with CA?

Hitesh now a days different national law colleges offer diploma courses like NLSIU, NAlSAR, NLU. You can check out their respective websites for all the details. One such course is Masters in Business law offered by NLSIU for which you just need to be a graduate. It caters only to corporate and allied laws. You can check that course out too.
With CA the kind of courses you should look for are those which would pertain specifically to corporate laws. Theres one more course offered by IIM Kolkata on Corporate law. Check out all of these and if you still have problems let me know.
