cost of litigation

i want file suit against inverter battery dealer. he deliver me defected piece in rs 8000 and now donot talk to me. i have prepared the case but problem is how to calculate cost of litigation for demand.
i want teach him a lesson if any advocate want to shake hand with me then i will give him all amount of compensation received for harassment and mental agony

Rs. 100/- fee is payable against the demand of Rs. 1 lac before consumer forum. Cost of mental, physical. economic harassment should be reasonable and in your case it cannot go beyond Rs. 50,000/- at all.

I dont know the place to which you belong to. But find some good lawyer who practises before consumer forum. Costs in consumer forum is not much. As told by Mr. Makkad, the court fees is very less. So go for it.

before filing a case first u issue a notice seeking compensation for not rendering the service, if no reply, then file a cons, case. There is prescribed formula for calculating the compensation. you have to convince the court because of this what and how u suffered, what is impact of bad service on you. You can claim the compensation as your wish but on the sought amount you will have to the CF.
