Crime u/s 420 file lost

If in a court any criminal case file is lost. How many year the case will proceeds into the court? Is there is time limit for case again criminal rule420?

give a complaint to the superior court so that the file could be traced and the trial can be concluded in time.

missing court record itself indicates for another crime.
