Respected Sir,
I have a certificate from municipal corporation, which has wrong date of birt in it. My parent intentionally gave the wrong DOB (to get admission in school). How can I get it corrected?

To get it corrected you have to issue notice to the Dist., commissioner and Deputy Director of Public Instructions of your Dist., u/s 80 of CPC by giving them 60 days time to make necessary corrections, they wont do definately then you will have to file a suit for declaration, but regarding limitation point you discuss with your advocate.

what proof do you have about the correct date of birth?
If you have the hospital records,then it would be easy to correct.

You apply for the birth certificate through Magistrate court proceedings. With that birth certificate you can claim the rectified DOB.
You can not correct it in any of the records created earlier.
You can use the new DOB for any official communications.

THEN WHAT PROOF YOU HAVE ABOUT YOUR CORRECT ONE.UNLESS YOU HAVE CONCRETE PROOF IT CAN NOT BE CHANGED THROUGH ANY OF THE PROCEEDINGS SUGGESTED HEREIN ABOVE, AND IF YOU ALLEGE WHAT YOU STATE HERE YOU WILL PUT YOUR PARENTS IN PERIL.

I too agree with Prbhakar Singhji, first obtain bonafied date of birth, then proceed for correction without blaming parents except on account of their illiteracy.

Am sorry mr.arunagiri sir. A magistrate can direct the concern authority to register any one unregistered birth or death only. Here the author had registered his birth earlierly. Then how can a magistrate issue a new birth certificate?

usually births are registered by the intimation of the hospitals now a days.
if the birth was earlier regd by a declaration of the parents,and subsequently,if he produce the hospital record with a correct date of birth,we can change the same.
