daughter's right of father property

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 20 July 2011 This query is : Resolved 
my wife's father died 1976,one son n 3daughters in all,he did not put any daughter's name in the will,only son n his wife(who also died later),
we dont know what is our claim n how can we claim?????
now son i.e. my wife's bro has all properties about 4 or 5 in his name
what if he keeps selling without us knowing n so far he has not mentioned about giving us any share
what should be our immediate step to protect ourself of not loosing any share???

your father in law property either self or ancestral property give full details

If U R a Bengalee, your wife & her sisters have no claim. In case of others, it depends on where from your father-in-law got the properties, i.e.,whether they are self-acquired or inherited. In the latter case, the daughters may claim but nothing in case of the former.
