Daughters right in fathers property

(Querist) 13 November 2012 This query is : Resolved
We are three siblings & am the only son. Have one elder & one younger sister. My father doesn't have any inherited property (from my grand parents) & has earned & made property on his own. Now my sisters (both married) are claiming equal rights in property, which my parents are not agreeing. Both my parents are alive and are rightful owners. Being a owner doesn't my parents have rights to write all the property in my name??? or does daughters have claim over it.

yes your sisters have equal rights on said property

The properties are self acquired properties of your father , neither your sisters nor you and your mother don't have any share during the life time of the father.

I go with Rajeev Sir.

I agree wiews of Shri Rajeev .

Father's self aqired property can be given by him as he likes, to anybody, during his lifetime.
No one has any right.

Questioned property is self acquired property of your father and he is alive then no one can claim share in said property either she may be your sister or mother or you also.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 14 November 2012
Your father is free to give the property as mentioned in your query to the person of their choice during their life time and even can make a will thereto. The claim of your sisters at this time is totally illegal and is not maintainable. They have got no right on that property.
malipeddi jaggarao (Expert) 15 November 2012
Since it is self-acquired property and your father has every right to dispose-off/alienate the property as per his own wish, you or your siblings do not have any right. If he dies without making a will, then all survivors (you, mother and your siblings) get the rights in the property. If he really wishes to exclude your sisters, he has to either register the property in your name or make will in your name during his life time.
K.K.Ganguly (Expert) 15 November 2012
It is your father's self acquired property. He can legally do whatever he wants with the said property during his lifetime. No body has any right on it so long he is alive.
