Hi
Mr A sold his ancestral property in 1980/81 to an independant party (not related to the family). Mr A had 3 minor daughters at the time of sale of the property. The daughters are major now. Can they claim back the ancestral land from the independant party or demand compensation?
Thanks a lot for your time.

If the property was devolved on father alone by succession,he was at liberty to sell it,and the document was valid in the eye of law.The minor children at the time of execution of the document, they cannot claim right late and the deed would have been drafted in such a way.

ancestral property/joint family property/devolves on all legal heirs equally.but A had no male legal heirs.
after the year 2005,women are also entitled to equal share.
But since property was sold in 1981 itself,MINOR DAUGHTER's rights did not exist by then.hence minor daughters lost out on the property shares.
