sir,
am serving in indian airforce from past 8 yrs,now am getting discharged on account of inefficiency and also been given gratuity. now, i want to know whether am elgible to ex-servicemen status or not

As per DOP&T office Memo No.36034/1/2006-Estt(Res) dated 04 Oct 2012
Those who were released on or after 10 Oct 2012 ** :
An ex-servicemen means a person-
(ii) who has been released from such service after completing the specific
period of engagement, otherwise than at his own request, or by way of
dismissal, or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency and has
been given gratuity;

What does the definition means in my case as i am getting discharged on account of inefficiency and also as per gratuity act 1972 i am also getting gratuity as i completed more dan 5 yrs service..

Sir ,
As i failed a training exam after 4 yrs of my service due to which i lost my promotion to next rank, as it happened in 2011
but now i received an letter stating that i will be discharged on account of inefficiency

Did you get the letter for discharge from IAF?, if s what are the contents and reasons shown in the discharge book for discharge from IAF and what are the relevant law that has been mentioned in the discharge book for this discharge. This is very important to know because you can challenge the discharge action only after ascertaining the maintainability of this. Please revert if you really interested n knowing the opinion of experts here.
