We keep reading about Judicial & Police custody in papers but I don't know the diff. between the two. Will experts enlighten me on this issue?

In cases of judicial custody the accused will be entrusted to the jail authorities for being kept in prison. In cases of police custody the police will take charge of the accused temporarily for a few days for interrogation purposes.

the police custody can be maximum of 14 days and only is rare case more where as judicial custody can be till one gets bail or acquited or his case is decided
