Difference between exparte proceedings and proceedings where defence is struck off

(Querist) 27 January 2012 This query is : Resolved 
in one of the suit filed case defendent did not reply to plaint even after grant of many opportunities by court. court left with no option and struck off the defence. can experts guide how case will proceed.is this will be like ex parte or not.
