My sister is having an account in bank with my "FATHERS NAME" As middle name...As per post office investment certificates.....she is having middle name as her "HUSBANDS NAME"....Certificates are getting matured before 15Aug2014...due to difference in name....will it create problem for issuing cheque/NEFT FT as per her bank account details.....pls advise.
Kumar Doab (Expert) 06 August 2014
The name in a/c opening form should be entered as per KYC docs by the customer.
The name in a/c, record, certificate etc should be entered as per KYC docs by the bank/PO.

The bank/PO can not alter the name from as in KYC docs.

The Bank/PO may agree to issue payment instrument after obtaining declaration/undertaking from customer that ……………………and ………………..is one and same person.

The customer may obtain CTS 2010 complaint cheque/DD accordingly so that there is no inconvenience and may avoid NEFT.

The customer can open SB a/c in the same PO/Bank and get the payment credited in SB a/c and withdraw it from the SB a/c.
