Diplomaticaly denying info under rti act

(Querist) 06 September 2013 This query is : Resolved
A Government Department - Director level replying a RTI Application gave false information to the Applicant regarding records maintained for a Official Purpose.

The Applicant made another RTI Application regarding the records for that said Official purpose. The Applicant further asked for Official Branches of that Government Department mainting the false records (false info given in previous RTI application)

Now the said office has given the list of records for the said Official purpose and is Diplomatically denying to give info on the Official Branches maintaining false records. It is asking the Applicant to apply to each and every branch for the said false records?

Is the Diplomatic denying on the part of Government Department correct under RTI Act?

Thanks in advance.
