HI every one. My question is if an Institute is offering a distance learning degree in Regular mode. and if the students are told by the institute that the programme is a regular Class room programme(but not clearly told about the distance learning degree),In that case can a student file a Complaint under Sec. 420 of IPC against the Institute or college?

What does institute's brochure/propectus reveals about the program, whether only a distance learning program or both regular as well as distance learning program?

Sir the Instiute doesn't mention this course as a Distace learning or Regualr course..But at the time of counselling the institute says it's a Regular claas room Programme. So the Instiute is hiding the fact that its' a Distance learning Programme.. What kind of action can be taken against this instiute? Please suggest.

The Deemed University is providing the Degree(which is distance learning degree). The college is providing it's own diploma which is not recognized with any institution or University. The college is not recogniszed to AICTE or any other technical body, The college is only a Learning center of the Deemed University.. But the studetns were told that they will get a degree(Regular Programme). The fact of Distance learnig was not revalead to the students.. Can we call it a Fraud? What kind of action can be taken against the college?

If your latest statement is correct, the incident can be called as a fraud and the college can be made liable for cheating the students. For compensation, you can knock the door of Consumer Forum, but if you want to sue the institution for cheating and fraud you will have to file a case in the court of law.
