Do my sisters have right in property

(Querist) 30 October 2013 This query is : Resolved
My grand father bought a property in 80's and he divided it into half and registerd for his son(my father) and his wife(my grand mother) himself before he die. so now my father and his mother want to sell the whole property. do my father's sisters and my sisters(father's daughters) have right in the property. should we take permission of them to sell the property. should we give share of the property to them
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 30 October 2013
No. As the property was registered 1/2 in favour of your grandmother and rest in favour of your father and both are still alive and want to sale their respective shares so no permission from any person is required to be obtained.

thank you for ur reply sir but my father's sisters are threating us that they have legal rights in the property owned by my grand mother and they are asking share in amount
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 31 October 2013
The sisters of your father have no legal right to claim any share in that property so don't care for them in this regard.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 31 October 2013
Sisters of father have no right in the property till their mother is alive and the property is in the name of their mother.

Similarly your sisters have no right in the property of your father till your father is alive as the property is in his name.

No need of taking any permission from them for selling the property by owners.
